Rootkit, Backdoor
Backdoor:
A backdoor is a method of bypassing normal authentication or encryption in a computer system, often left by developers for troubleshooting or created by hackers to gain future access. While it allows access to the system, it is not a collection of tools like a rootkit.
Rootkit:
A rootkit is a collection of malicious software tools that enable an unauthorized user to gain control of a computer system without being detected. It typically hides its presence and can mask the intrusion, making it difficult for the system owner or security software to detect or remove it. Rootkits can provide backdoor access, log keystrokes, steal information, and maintain control over the system.
